Fior D'Arancio - A summery frizzante by the glass

by Guy Kugel

Fior d’Arancio
Vintage: Non-vintage
Producer: Terregaie
Region: Veneto
Grape: Moscato Giallo, also known as Golden Muscat

This wine is a frizzante, meaning semi sparkling as opposed to spumante, which is the general term for fully sparkling. Prosecco is an example of a spumante. Fior d'Arancio is lightly sparkling and vinified off dry, which means that while it has some residual sugar, it's not as sweet as a dessert wine.

Nose: peaches and honeysuckle
Tasting notes: rose hips, peaches, fresh apricot, yellow apple, with a light, sweet, and clean finish.

Currently, the Fior d'Arancio is being paired with the Casatica cheese on the menu.

CASATICA, Water Buffalo Milk
Crispy duck confit, fried sage, honey brûlée
